Munching Monster

We started learning about greater than and less than today. Munching monsters help us remember which way the symbol goes. 

Then we practiced this new skill with our partners.

Learning Monday

We have new sight words and a new vowel pattern we are learning this week. I had one student find the -ew pattern from last week at home! Find some -oo- patterns this week and bring them to school! It's fun to connect our learning from school to our homes! 

We are learning two poems this week! One is Stung and the other is a special one for our Mother's Day Tea Party.

This week, our story is Piggie Pie. It is a funny book that has some other fairy tales weaved throughout. Ask your child about it. 

Plants Galore

Community Service Project

Mr. Canning came to help us plant spinach for a community service project. We will donate it to the food bank when we harvest.

Parts of a Plant

We learned about the parts of a plant and had examples of each that we eat! It was a great healthy snack too! Radishes were the biggest hit!

It's Earth Week

We are focusing on Earth Day is week. We have a poem about Recycling and it's to the tune of Its Raining, It's Pouring. 

Here is the literacy focus this week:

Can your child find any -ew patterns in books at home? If you do, write them down and send them to school for a reward! 

Show and Tell

 Show And Tell was a huge success. We each shared what we brought from home and got to take two questions from the audience. 

Mrs. McDonald even brought something for show and tell!

iMovie

We worked on our iMovie for conferences today. We added the videos we want to share with our families into iMovie and we will add the fun details to it on Thursday. We hope you come see our videos on Friday!
