Pumpkin Patch and Artist...In One Day!

We had such a fun time at our pumpkin patch field trip to Davis Family Farm.

We were so excited to take off!

We made it!

We headed to the greenhouse first for apple cider donuts and apple cider.

We got to play for a bit after we ate.

Then we took the hay ride out to get our pumpkins! Guess who drove us out there...me!

Pumpkin hunting time!

Jaden got to drive us back! Lucky girl!

Time for some hay pyramid and corn maze fun before heading back to school.

When we got back to school, we had art with Mrs. King. We felted wool to start making little acorns. It was a fun and hands on lesson. Ask your child how they made them!

Marvelous Monday

Pumpkin Jack

Pumpkin Jack is our new story this week. In this book, it talks about the life cycle of a pumpkin.  We took those steps and made our own life cycle of pumpkins. When we go to the pumpkin patch tomrrow, we will be on the lookout for which stage those pumpkins are!

Marty

Marty made it back from yet another great adventure with Sammie this last weekend. They got to go to the pumpkin patch together!

What Are We Learning This Short Week?

We are finishing the last two letters of the alphabet this week. We are also reviewing the sight words, "it" and "and."  Next week, we will start learning some word families.

Exciting Day

Character Dress Up Day

We had such a blast with our character dress up day! It was such a great way to celebrate filling our classroom coin jar. I loved seeing all of the creativity in the outfits today!

Bats

We have been learning about bats this week and created this 'can, have, are' chart to help organize our thoughts so we could write a sentence about what we leaned. You will get to take home your child's piece of writing from today at your conference next week.

Terrific Tuesday

Marty the Monkey

Marty was out on another fun adventure with Kneque and her family this last weekend. They got to make bouncy balls and do some other fun crafts! Reading Marty's journal brightens my day! I can't wait for everyone to get to read through it!

Happy Birthday Alivia

We have another kid who turned 6!

Buddies

We had our first buddy class yesterday. We have 5th grade buddies from Mrs. Baumgartner's class. They organize a craft and come do it with our kinders. It's so fun! We did fall/Halloween crafts this month. Sammie's brother is in Mrs. Baumgartner's class and got to be Sammie's buddy!

Starker Forest Field Trip

We were foresters today exploring Starker Forst in Blodgett! Although it rained the whole time we were there, we had a blast!

We were super excited to get our trip started!

We enjoyed our snack under the shelter. We kept dry for as long as we could.

Then the fun adventures started! We hiked down to a mud puddle to make animal tracks.

We passed around the bear track!

Then we got to decorate our very own wood cookie.

Our last stop before we left was a nature hike. We explored the forest and went on a scavenger hunt for pine cones, pine needles, and leaves. We started in very new forests with baby trees and ended up in old forests with trees that were almost 100 years old!

Such a cool bridge!

We saw a beaver dam back along the creek!
