Our Room!

Our room has some features that are new since you have all visited! We have a name wall where we have all our classmates pictures and names. This way we can spell our friend's names and recognize their names throughout the year.

We have been working on Number Corner each day! We go over our calendar, add our day in school, collect cubes, and work with a number line every day! We are already getting better with counting and recognizing numbers.

Writers Workshop

Today was our first day of writers workshop! We learned today that writing is just telling on paper. We told some great stories in our journals today.

We first focus on getting a picture down that tells a story. That means we include details and many colors to help tell that story. Later, we will put our focus on adding words and sentences to help the reader understand what is happening in the story/ picture. Look at these writers working hard!

Watercolor Art

We painted with water colors today. It was so fun to let our creativity flow! Come to curriculum night next Tuesday the 20th to see your child's finished project.

Our 1st Day All Together

What a full fun day we had! It was such a great feeling to have everyone together and get along. I am truly a lucky teacher to have such a great group of kids.

We started our day with reading. We retold Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and then made our own Chicka Chicka Boom Boom trees.

Then we did our first day of reading stations. We learned how to do magnetic letters, stencils, name writing, and beginning sound bean bags.

This afternoon we loved our math workplaces! We played with cubes, pattern blocks, and polydrons.

We even got to plant some peas with Mr. Canning in our school garden! We will harvest the peas in a few months. We'll get to eat some and then donate the rest to Communtiy Outreach!
