Naturalist!

What an excellent naturalist in residence lesson we had yesterday! We learned about amphibians and reptiles! We learned that reptiles are covered with scales and amphibians have soft permeable skin.

We started with a herp hunt (herps are what we call amphibians and reptiles together).

Look what we found!

Then we went back to the class and got to see and touch some real reptiles and amphibians!
We started with looking at and touching a ball python and a gopher snake! The kids were way braver than me!

A snakeskin!

Next, we got to see the turtle!

Finally, we got to see an American bullfrog, a tree frog, and a newt!

Eagle Nest Monday

Every Monday morning we have a meeting at the Eagles Nest (our fun way of saying a morning assembly). This morning we discussed the importance of our school motto, "You Matter." We had many conversations about the what this actually means. Our class really gets it! Ask your child to tell you about what it means to them!

This morning, we had 2 representatives from our class share what you matter means. Michael and Audrey did an awesome job speaking in front of the whole school!

They were getting ready!

There goes Michael!

And Audrey!

Sock Hop!

Poodle skirts, rolled up jeans, scarves, combs....did we go back in time to the 50s? Yes we did, because today is our Sock Hop and silent auction! This is such a fun event so we dressed up during the day to celebrate for a long as we can!

Even the teachers got dressed up!

Take a look at some of the great outfits we wore!
