Oil Pastel Resist Painting

Today we experimented with a new kind of art. We drew a snowflake with a white oil pastel and then painted on top with blue watercolor paint. We learned that this is called a resist. The blue water colors could not paint on top of the oil pastels. We were amazed as our snowflakes appeared!!
