Eric Carle Bulletin Board 

Our masterpieces are up! Look how wonderfully they all turned out!

Gardening with Mr. Canning!

Yesterday we got to go to the garden and plant marigolds and nasturtiums with Mr. Canning. While a few kids planted, the rest of the class got to go and observe all of the other cool things in our garden!

We started in our classroom by talking about "propagation" which is how we get new plants.
Mr. Canning showed us that garlic is a bulb and can be planted to make new garlic!

Mr. Canning showed us a potato, which is a tuber. The "eyes" can be cut apart to make new plants.

Strawberry plants are examples of runners. 

An iris can be made with division. You cut apart the root and you can make more irises! 

Then we went outside to plant!
