Eric Carle

Today we read, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We watched a slideshow yesterday about how Eric Carle created this book, so it was cool to read it together today. After we read, we worked on retelling the story. We were able to remember the setting, the character, and what happened first, next and last. These are all things your child should be able to do with any fictional story.

We Are Editors!

We attempted something we have never done before: editing each other's writing. We wrote in our journals and then paired up with an editing partner. We had to read our writing to each other, then we helped our partner make it perfect kindergarten writing. We were on the lookout for: a capital letter to start each sentence, punctuation at the end of sentences, spaces in between words, and sight words spelled correctly. I am so impressed with how carefully everyone checked their partners writing! We know what is important in a sentence!

(Seriously! How cute are these pictures?! They took their job so seriously!)
